Local Juveniles Charged in $32K Burglary & Vandalism Rampage

CLINTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police have charged two juveniles with burglary and criminal mischief following a destructive rampage that caused over $32,000.00 worth of damage to multiple campers at a Clinton Township campground.

PSP Franklin issued a release on Wednesday, February 1, regarding two known male juveniles–a 17-year-old Harrisville male and a 15-year-old Kennerdell male– who arrived on foot at Marlowe’s Campground in Clinton Township on November 22, 2022.

Upon arrival, the youth entered four campers by prying open the doors with a screwdriver.

Once inside one of the campers, “they totally destroyed the inside causing over $27,000.00 in damage,” according to police.

Inside the other three campers, the youth set off fire extinguishers and broke items. Then, they intentionally broke items outside three additional campers, police say.

Overall damage to all campers and private property was approximately $32,030.30, according to police.

The youth were charged with the following crimes via juvenile petition through the Venango County District Attorney’s Office:

  • Burglary, Felony 2 (four counts)
  • Criminal Mischief, Felony 3 (seven counts)
