ROUSEVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A local man who allegedly sent crude messages to two Rouseville residents at odd hours of the night is facing stalking and harassment charges.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against Charles Brian Schmidt, age unknown, of Titusville.

According to a criminal complaint, on Thursday, March 14, Trooper Cirell of the Franklin-based State Police was dispatched to the residence of a known female victim who had reported that she was being harassed by Charles Schmidt.

Trooper Cirell then interviewed the female victim and a known male victim at the residence.

According to the complaint, the victims reported they had both been receiving phone calls from Schmidt at odd hours such as 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. that morning. The victims then allowed Trooper Cirell to listen to the expletive-laced voicemails that Schmidt had left for them.

The complaint notes that Schmidt had left two voicemails on the male victim’s phone and one voicemail on the female victim’s phone.

While Trooper Cirell was speaking with the victims, the female victim also showed him what Schmidt posted on his Facebook page. According to the complaint, Schmidt posted multiple sexually explicit and inflammatory messages.

Schmidt was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, on the following charges:

– Stalking — Repeatedly Commit Acts To Cause Fear, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
– Harassment — Communicate Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3 (two counts)

Unable to post $5,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27.
