PLEASANTVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A local man is accused of allegedly strangling his wife until she passed out, as well as assaulting another woman, in Pleasantville Borough on Sunday.

According to court documents, Franklin-based State Police filed criminal charges against 21-year-old Dylon John Leech, of Pleasantville, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office on Sunday, June 4.

According to a criminal complaint, PSP Franklin were dispatched to a residence on Dunham Road in Pleasantville Borough, Venango County, for an inactive domestic around 7:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 4.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a known female victim, who advised she was arguing with her husband, Dylon Leech, about how he disciplines their daughter, the complaint states.

According to the complaint, the victim stated that the argument became heated and physical, with both parties pushing each other.

The victim then punched Leech in the head, who then grabbed the victim and pulled her to the ground, causing a large bump on her head, the complaint notes.

According to the complaint, Leech began strangling the victim with a single-arm chokehold. He kept her in the chokehold until the victim passed out.

When the victim’s sister observed Leech choking her, she began begging Leech to stop. Leech told her to get away from them as he continued to choke the victim, even though she had already lost consciousness, the complaint indicates.

The victim’s sister was “worried that (the victim) was in danger,” so she punched the side of Leech’s head. Leech then let go of the victim and grabbed her sister’s hair and pulled her to the ground. The victim’s sister was trying to get away from Leech, but was unable to, the complaint notes.

The victim’s mother then saw what was happening before she began pulling Leech off of her daughter and began hitting him to get him to stop. She yelled at him that she was calling the cops, at which point Leech fled the residence out the back door, according to the complaint.

Leech was arraigned at 4:30 a.m. on Monday, June 5, on the following charges in front of District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland:

  • Strangulation — Applying Pressure To Throat Or Neck, Felony 2
  • Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment — Subject Other To Physical Contact, Summary (two counts)

Unable to post $15,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Prison.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 14, at 8:30 a.m., in Venango County Central Court with Judge Kirtland presiding.
