SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A Kennerdell man who already has two other cases pending against him is now facing additional charges in relation to yet another burglary.

Court documents indicate the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 23-year-old Devon Scott Anthony.

According to a criminal complaint, around 12:12 p.m. on December 12, 2019, Lieutenant Baker, of the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department, took a report of a theft from a shed located on Observation Street.

The complaint notes that during the course of the investigation, Lieutenant Baker learned the victim was missing a Husqvarna chainsaw, a gas powered leaf blower, and a yellow and black colored tool box that contained all sockets. The victim reported they were all in the shed the previous night, and when he checked in the morning, found the items were missing. The chainsaw and leaf blower were then entered into the NCIC.

According to the complaint, on December 30, Lieutenant Baker was advised by the Franklin-based State Police that they had found the chainsaw and leaf blower through another of their investigations.

Lieutenant Baker then spoke to Devon Scott Anthony regarding the theft.

According to the complaint, Anthony admitted to stealing the items and said he “didn’t remember” stealing the tool box but noted he was high at the time.

Anthony was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, on the following charges:

– Burglary — Not Adapted for Overnight Accommodation, No Person Present, Felony 2
– Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3
– Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1 (two counts)
– Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1

Unable to post $30,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, with Judge Lowrey presiding.

Court documents indicate Anthony also has several additional cases, involving burglary, theft, and drug possession, that are currently making their way through the Common Pleas Courts in both Venango and Crawford counties.
