Local Psychiatrist’s Offices, Home Raided by Authorities

Dr. Thomas RadeckiCLARION, Pa. (EYT) – According to a press release from the office of Clarion County District Attorney Mark Aaron, search warrants were served at the offices and the home of Dr. Thomas Radecki.

The Attorney General’s office and the Clarion County Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) executed a search warrant at Radecki’s office located at 238 Main St., Clarion, Pa., around 8:00 a.m. Friday.

According to the District Attorney’s office, the search warrant at the office of Dr. Radecki – a psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of opioid dependance– is part of an ongoing investigation.

DEA agents, Clarion County Sheriff Rex Munsee, Clarion County Detective William Peck IV – the head of CNET – and numerous other law enforcement were on the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, several boxes of evidence were seized from the building.

Evidence was also seized from Radecki’s home in Clarion and his offices in Seneca, DuBois, and Kane.

No charges have been filed against Radecki or anyone connected to the practice, yet.

Radecki specializes in treating patients who are addicted to heroin and highly addictive pain pills through the use of a controversial prescription medication called Suboxone.

“Suboxone goes in there and stimulates things a little bit. Not enough for people to feel high. They don’t feel high on the suboxone. However, it stimulates it enough so that they don’t feel that they are in withdrawl,” Radecki told WJAC-TV 6 in a March interview.

In a February interview with Ron Wilshire, Radecki stated that he and several other doctors that he hired, were treating nearly 1000 patients in the area with Suboxone.

According to the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine, Radecki’s license is currently suspended and “disciplinary action or corrective action history exists.”

This isn’t the first time Radecki has run into trouble.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the state of Illinois revoked his license to practice psychiatry in 1992 for a minimum of five years because of ”allegations of inappropriate sexual activity by Dr. Radecki with one of his female patients.”

Calls to Radecki’s office and home were not immediately returned.
