Local Woman Visits Forest Area Students, Answers Questions About Her School Days

| March 16, 2018

FOREST CO., Pa. – A local woman visited the Forest Area School District to speak to the students about her school days.

On Wednesday, February 28, Mrs. Darlene McCracken came to speak to first graders about topics from the past.

The first-grade class recently read the story “Thomas Rivera,” a story about a young boy who hears stories from his grandfather and then becomes an author by telling his own stories.

Mrs. McCracken is the grandmother of first-grade student Ryan McCracken. She answered questions about what her school day was like, games that she played, and working on the farm on the weekend. She showed the students pictures, gave them each “penny” candy and a hat that she made.

Students are pictured wearing their hats made by Mrs. McCracken.
