Locally Filmed ‘Potential Inertia’ to Screen at Parkway Theater on July 31

MCKEES ROCKS, Pa. (EYT) – “Potential Inertia” a film shot locally by Matt Croyle, will have a screening at the Parkway Theater in McKees Rocks on July 31.

The film, which Croyle has spent two-and-a-half years making, was shot entirely in western Pennsylvania, with the majority of principle photography taking place in Venango County. “Potential Inertia” premiered locally in December of 2014.

The film’s plot revolves around Declan Holmes, a young man who is graduating from college and preparing to transition into the “real world.” Through this difficult time, Holmes is faced with the struggle of losing people who matter to him.

Croyle, who resides in western Pennsylvania, is an accomplished playwright and screenwriter, director, graphic designer, disc jockey, and award-nominated actor. He graduated from Clarion University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Communication and Theater and in 2004 with post-baccalaureate studies in English.

Since then, he has worked with stars such as Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”) and Amanda Seyfried (“Les Miserables,” “Lovelace”), directors including Greg Mottola (“Superbad,” “The Daytrippers,” “Adventureland”) and Kevin Smith (“Clerks,” “Chasing Amy”), international recording artist and actor Jeff Trachta, and renowned New York/Broadway music director Michael Biagi.

“Potential Inertia” was selected as a runner-up in the 2008 Great Lakes Independent Film Festival’s Scriptwriting Competition in Erie, Pa.

The screening will take place at the Parkway Theater at 1:00 p.m. on July 31, with a live Q & A following the film. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m.

For a $5.00 donation, viewers will receive $2.00 back in concession tickets.
