Lois ChernickyLois J. Chernicky, 86, of Clarion, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014, at her home.
Born on November 19, 1927 in Venus; she was the daughter of Wayne and Arlene Culp Powell.

Lois was a graduate of the Shippenville High School. After graduation, she worked for General Electric in Erie, where she met her husband.

She was married on April 3, 1947 to Pete Chernicky, who preceded her in death on February 8, 2013.

Lois was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion. She was also a member of the Garden Club of Clarion County and participated in many other community activities.

Lois devoted her life to raising her family and her greatest joys in life were spending fun times with family and attending her children and grandchildren’s events.

Surviving are her three children, Robert Chernicky and his wife, Rebecca, of Clarion, Darlene Baily and her husband, Clint, of Rimersburg, and Keith Chernicky of Clarion; seven grandchildren, Chris Schimp of Massachusetts, Trisha Dorfman of Massachusetts, Darren Chernicky of Massachusetts, Danica Chernicky of Pittsburgh, Zac Toven of Clarion, Allison Dobo of Irwin, and Logan Chernicky of Clarion; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pete; a daughter, Lynn Schimp; a sister, Ginny Weaver; and a brother, Bob Powell.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Clarion, with Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church, presiding.

Entombment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum.
