loisLois Jean McGill, 77, of Franklin, passed away at the Caring Place on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 4:05 am.

Born September 30, 1939, in Wellington, OH, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence Heffern Wyatt.

In her earlier years she enjoyed traveling and playing bingo. Later in life she enjoyed crochet, reading, cards, puzzles, and most especially spending time with her grand children.

Lois loved to bake cookies, especially with the help of her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her famous caramel popcorn at Christmas time.

She was always happy to help when someone needed it, and worried about others before herself.

On August 17, 1963, she married Zane McGill. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. McGill worked at the Franklin Hospital, Polly’s Dairy, and retired from Sugarcreek Station. After her retirement, she kept busy by babysitting.

She had attended Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin.

Mrs. McGill is survived by her children, Zane McGill II and his wife Cindy, of Utica, Mike McGill and his wife Andrea, of Utica, and Pam Greenlee and her husband, Tom, of Cochranton. She is survived by her step daughter Debra Snyder of Utica. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, Tom, Jared, Megan, Hanna, Emily, Jaylin, and Harper, step granddaughters, Barbie, Charlotte; 4 great grandchildren, Ryan, Piper, Alaina, and Adalyn, and a step great grandson, Jacob. She is additionally survived by her special nieces, Tina, Teresa, and Lisa, and her special nephew Tim.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Raymond Wyatt, two grandchildren, Aaron and Bailey McGill, and a step grandson Alan Snyder.

As per Mrs. McGill’s request, there will be no public visitation.

A memorial service will be held at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Wednesday, June 28 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Sam Wagner, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.
