Lois V. Ace, 89, of Franklin, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born November 11, 1926 in Butler, Lois was the daughter of the late Fred and Nettie Hilliard Johnson. Lois married Robert A. King, who preceded her in death in 1971; then married Gerald M. Ace, who preceded her in death in 1996.

Lois was a homemaker and attended the Nicklin United Methodist Church. At the church, she enjoyed singing in the choir and being a Sunday School teacher and youth leader. She was an avid reader, loved word search puzzles, and enjoyed watching tv. She will be remembered by her loved ones as being a wonderful Christian mother who had a kind heart and was willing to help anyone.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Kathryn King of Franklin; and her sisters, Catherine Shawgo and Shirley Burgard of Franklin. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jonathan “JD” King, and his wife, Jennifer, of Franklin, and Nicholas King, and his wife, Josie, also of Franklin; her great-grandchildren: Parker and Darnerys King; and her step great-grandchilren: Ian and Callie Higley.

In addition to her parents and her late husbands, Lois was preceded in death by her sons, Robert King, Jr. and David King; and her brother, Robert Johnson.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Nicklin United Methodist Church, 2602 Water Works Road, Franklin, Pa. 16323.

According to Lois’ wishes, there will be no visitation and service will be private. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street in Franklin.
