Louise G. Bacher

Louise G. Bacher, 93 of Westminster CO, formerly of Franklin went to be with the lord on March 19, 2017 in Boulder Colorado.

Born April 1, 1923 in Franklin, PA, she was the daughter of Lewis A. and Edna M. Stitzinger Hummel.

Mrs. Bacher graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1942 in the same class with her brother Harry F. Hummel. She then went to work at the former Joy Manufacturing Company. Later she worked at the old Franklin Hospital.

She attended Christ United Methodist Church. She was married November 27, 1947 to Paul D. Bacher who died September 29, 1989.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Connie) Denny of Titusville, PA, and Mrs. Richard (Shirley) Deeter of North Jackson, Ohio, and a step-daughter Mrs. James (Rose Marie) Nadig of Grove City, PA. Three sons, Donald P Bacher and his wife Kathy of Polk, PA, Richard D. Bacher and His wife Paula of Franklin, and Kenneth E. Bacher of Westminster, CO.

She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, as well as a brother-in-law, George W. Cook of Evans City, PA.

She was devoted to her family and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafts, puzzles, and music.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, 1st Lt. Harry F. Hummel, a B-17 Pilot on November 4, 1944 and Harold E. Hummel in 2003, a sister-in-law F. “Miriam” (Huber) Hummel in 2007, a brother-in-law Walter R. “Dick” Zehmisch in 1991, and her sister Mrs. George W. (Carolyn J.) Cook in 2013, a great-grandson, Lee Wielandt in 1987 and a great-granddaughter, Kassandra L. Finefrock in 1993.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. Saturday.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Janz and Rev. Sam Wagner, Pastors of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.

Mrs. Bacher will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Columbkille Cemetery in Stoneboro, PA.

Mrs. Bacher requested that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo St. Franklin, PA
