Lyle Berton McLaughlin, of 735 Robertson Road, Hermitage, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, in his residence following a lengthy illness. He was 78.

Lyle was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Venus, Venango County to Bruce and Lillian Seigworth McLaughlin.

He married Frances Carnes on Dec. 4, 1973.

Lyle spent the majority of his life self-employed as a small business owner. Most recently he was a truck driver.

He was an Army veteran and a member of Hickory VFW Post 6166, Hermitage.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. In addition he liked NASCAR, making home improvements and working outside.

He is survived by a daughter, Lori (Roger) Ray of Franklin; three sons, Christopher McLaughlin of Oil City, Chad (Kelly) McLaughlin of Hermitage, and Joshua (Lisa) McLaughlin of Grove City, a brother, Harold (Bert) McLaughlin of Oil City, and five grandchildren, Bailey, Spencer, Easton, Noah and Adelayde; and a great-grandson, Jayce.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Charles McCluskey, Ben McLaughlin and Raymond McLaughlin.

There will be no calling hours or service.

The cremation will be at John Flynn Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
