Member_144850Mae B. Stover, 90, of Seneca, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning, March 23, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Pine City, Clarion County, on November 14, 1924 to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Mahle) Rex.

She was married in Shippenville on January 1, 1948 to Ottis W. Stover, and he survives. They cherished 68 years of marriage together.

Mae enjoyed crocheting, reading, and attending the Senior Center to play card games.

She attended worship services at Seneca United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Stover had been employed at Purinton Pottery in Shippenville prior to World War II. She then worked at C.P.T. in Franklin and the Oilwell Supply Company in Oil City. She became employed at the Hallmark store in the Cranberry Mall and also worked for Mr. and Mrs. Whaley at the Pinoak Super Duper. While she lived in North Carolina from 1985 until 1999, she was employed by Frazier’s Hallmark stationary and book store in Lexington.

In addition to her husband, Ottis, she is survived by two sons: James O. Stover and his wife Paula, and Randal E. Stover and his wife JoAnn, both of the Dallas, Texas area; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Dean Rex and his wife Mary Ann and Ray Rex and his wife Mary; two sisters, Twila Fink and her husband Bill and Doris Rowan and her husband Norman; her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Rex; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Rex and his wife Isabelle, Paul Rex and his wife Evelyn, and Gale Rex.

Friends will be received Wednesday (March 25) from 4-7 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held Thursday (March 26) at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. William E. Hastings and the Rev. Janet Pratt, church pastors, officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Venango V.N.A. Hospice Foundation, 491 Allegheny Blvd., Franklin, PA 16323.
