Major James L. Randolph

Major James L. Randolph, 91, Ret. USAF formerly of Limestone, died at 7:15 PM Sunday September 21, 2014 at Clairview Nursing and Rehab Center near Sligo.

Born in East Brady on August 11, 1923, he was the son of George L. and Leona Belle Cole Randolph.

Jim was raised in North East, PA by his grandparents Cole.

In 1942 he graduated from the US Army Air Corps.

Flight School and began his career as a US Army pilot retiring 33 years later from the US Air Force as a Major.

Jim served in both WW II and the Korean Conflict and was assigned in Viet Nam in its early stages.

He loved to tell stories of his flying career.

He was married December 1, 1951 to Marjorie E. Hatcher and preceded him in death.

Upon retirement Jim and Marjorie moved to Limestone and they attended the Limestone Baptist Church and when younger was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by; a son John E. Randolph and wife Dina of Riverside, CA, 4 grandchildren ; Natalie Hertz, twins John E. Randolph and James E. Randolph and Brian A. Jarvis, 2 step-sisters; Nancy E. Workman of Sligo and RuthAnn Terwilliger and husband Fred of Parker, a special niece Patti Bell and husband Dee of New Bethlehem and her children Misty Marsh, Samantha and Alexandra Bell, who Jim considered as his second set of grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a daughter Alicia Jarvis and his step-mother Millie Randolph.

Jim’s family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Thursday September 25, 2014 until the time of services at 11 a.m. at the Varner Funeral Home, 1632 Bald Eagle St. Sligo, PA.

The Rev. Rob Ingmire pastor at the Limestone Baptist Church will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.

Full Military Honors will be accorded by the ceremonial squads of the VFW Post 7132 and American Legion Post 454 both of Rimersburg.
