Man Accused of Beating Utica Victim with Brass Knuckles

UTICA BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A 31-year-old man was arraigned on felony assault and related charges this week in relation to a violent incident in Utica Borough.

Court documents indicate the Polk Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against William Turner Boozer, of Greenville, on April 9.

Boozer was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish at 9:15 p.m. on Monday, April 22, on the following charges:

– Aggravated Assault, Felony 1
– Aggravated Assault, Felony 2
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Make Repairs/Sell/Etc. Offensive Weapon, Misdemeanor 1
– Possess Instrument of Crime with Intent, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Unable to post $25,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail on April 22.

According to a criminal complaint, around 4:15 p.m. on March 29, William Boozer allegedly went to the Grant Street, Utica home of a known victim where he had a brief conversation with the victim before beginning to punch the victim in the face and the back of the head with brass knuckles.

The complaint notes the victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to UPMC Northwest and then to UPMC Hamot Trauma Center in Erie for further medical care.

According to the complaint, the victim was able to clearly identify Boozer.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, with Judge Fish presiding.
