CORNPLANTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — An Erie man who is accused of domestic violence in Cornplanter Township, Venango County, has waived his preliminary hearing.

According to court documents, the following charges against 48-year-old Allen Anthony Razza, of Erie, have been transferred to Venango County Court of Common Pleas:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

The case is working its way through the court system.

According to a criminal complaint, around 10:16 p.m. on Monday, January 22, Franklin-based State Police Officer Shiley was dispatched to a private residence on Oak Road in Cornplanter Township for an act of domestic violence. Upon arrival, Officer Shiley met with a known victim who said she had engaged in an argument with Allen Razza that turned physical. She said Razza had punched, smacked, and kicked her.

The woman alleged that Razza began to leave the residence at one point, and she followed him to the door and told him to leave, and then he turned back and pushed her extremely hard, causing her to lose her balance and fall backward. The victim stated that she hit her back off of a large bird cage in the kitchen and hit her head off of cabinets. The woman also allegedly hit her hip at some point during the altercation, the complaint states.

The victim reported that after she hit the bird cage, Razza then dragged her back to the bedroom by her hair and threw her on the bed where he began to punch her again. She stated that her daughter then came in the room and yelled at Razza to get off of her mother. Razza then fled the area, but he was subsequently found at the Hasson Heights public pool, according to the complaint.

The woman went to UPMC Northwest following the police interview.

Razza is also facing a preliminary hearing on a January 31 disorderly conduct case.
