Man Accused of Running Marijuana Grow Operation Out of President Twp. Home

PRESIDENT TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Tionesta man is facing drug charges after Pennsylvania state police discovered marijuana plants in his President Township residence.

According to court documents, on December 18, criminal charges were filed against 59-year-old Edward James Maund II, of Tionesta.

According to a criminal complaint, Pennsylvania State Police received a tip regarding an indoor marijuana grow at 5205 State Highway 62, in President Township, Venango County.

The complaint states that around 12:50 p.m. on December 7, officers from the PSP Vice Unit conducted a “knock and talk” at the above-described location. The smell of marijuana emanated from or near the door.

Officers met with Edward Maund, and he consented to a search of the residence. Maund took the officers to the basement where the marijuana grow was located. Officers processed the scene, recovering 71 marijuana plants, grow lights, and plant food from the residence, according to the complaint.

Maund faces the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Intentional Possession Controlled Substance By Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor (two counts)

He is free of $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on February 14 in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.
