Man Accused of Selling Crack Cocaine, Heroin in Venango County Waives Hearing

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A 29-year-old man who was busted for allegedly selling crack cocaine and heroin to confidential informants in Venango County earlier this year waived his preliminary hearings on Wednesday on related charges.

According to court documents, the following charges against 29-year-old Jerrell Kennedy Miles, of Youngstown, Ohio, were waived for court on Wednesday, September 12:

  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony (three counts)
  • Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3 (three counts)
  • Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor (three counts)
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia (three counts)

In a related case, the following charges against Miles were also waived for court on Wednesday, September 12:

  • Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3 (two counts)
  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony (two counts)
  • Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor (two counts)
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia (two counts)

Charges have been transferred to the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.

Miles remains lodged in the Venango County Jail.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, between the months of April and May of 2018, two separate controlled drug buys were conducted and observed by Attorney General Drug Task Force Agents utilizing a confidential informant (C.I.).

The controlled buys were conducted utilizing the C.I. to make calls and text messages on various dates and times to Jerrell “Twin” Miles, and the controlled buys were observed by Drug Task Force Agents who positively identified Miles.

February 27 Controlled Purchase of Crack Cocaine

On February 27, another C.I. arranged via text message and completed a controlled purchase of suspected crack cocaine from Miles at a location in Venango County under the surveillance of Erie-based State Police Troopers. A test of the substance came up positive for cocaine, according to a criminal complaint.

March 14 Controlled Purchase of Crack Cocaine, Heroin

The complaint states a second controlled purchase of suspected crack cocaine from Miles was arranged by the C.I. at a location in Venango County under the surveillance of Erie-based State Police Troopers in early March. A test of that substance also came up positive for cocaine.

According to the complaint, on March 14, the C.I. arranged via text message and completed a third controlled purchase of suspected crack cocaine and heroin from Miles at a location in Venango County under the surveillance of Erie-based State Police Troopers. A test of the substances came up positive for cocaine and heroin, respectively.
