Man Airlifted Following Motorcycle vs. SUV Crash on Route 322

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A motorcyclist was airlifted to UPMC Hamot following a motorcycle versus SUV crash that occurred last week on Route 322.

According to Franklin-based State Police, the accident happened around 1:09 p.m. on September 25, on U.S. 322 just south of Hill City Road in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Police say 34-year-old Ashley M. Shuffstall, of Oil City, was operating a 2011 GM Terrain, traveling east on U.S. 322, when she crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a 2004 Harley-Davidson Fatboy, operated by 64-year-old James C. Zeidler, of Boyers, Pa.

Zedler suffered serious injuries to his left leg and was flown to UPMC Hamot by STAT MedEvac.

He was not wearing a helmet.

Shuffstall was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Community Ambulance Service also assisted at the scene.

Shuffstall was cited for careless driving.
