Man Dies in Accident at Crawford County Fair

CRAWFORD CO., Pa. (EYT) – A Saegertown man died Wednesday at the Crawford County Fair after he was trampled by a horse pulling a wagon.

According to a published article on pittsburgh.cbslocal.comCharles Burns, 64, was sitting in a horse-drawn wagon when he was thrown from it while making a turn.

Burns landed underneath and was trampled by the horse.

He was taken to the Meadville Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Officials say Burns owned the horses and had been chairman of the fair’s draft horse department for many years.

A fair board member said events would continue as scheduled.

The fair ends on Saturday.
