BARKEYVILLE BORO, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police say a semi-truck crash occurred on July 25, along Interstate 80 in Barkeyville Borough, Venango County.

According to police, around 11:58 p.m. on July 25, 54-year-old Stephen C. Reis, of Bay Shore, N.Y., was traveling west on Interstate 80 in a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia, when he fell asleep while driving.

The semi-truck then reportedly traveled through the passing lane and off of the roadway into the median area where it eventually overturned onto its driver side.

Reis was wearing his seat belt during the accident and was not injured.

He was charged with a driving traffic violation.

Clintonville Fire Department and Hovis Towing and Recovery assisted at the scene.
