Case details:

According to a criminal complaint, around 11:59 p.m. on June 30, Troopers Miller and Cole, of Franklin-based State Police, were dispatched to assist the Waterways Conservation Officers on Deer Creek Road, along French Creek, in French Creek Township, Venango County.

Waterways Conservations Officers related that they were conducting a special assignment in the area along French Creek, and they were packing up when a white Kia Niro pulled in to the pull off area along Deer Creek Road.

The complaint states that Officer Cole approached the driver of the vehicle, and the odor of marijuana was observed.

The driver – identified as Dakota Oelkrue – allegedly related that he had been smoking marijuana.

Oelkrue was also found to be in possession of approximately 10 grams of a white granular substance believed to be crystal meth, along with other drug paraphernalia, according to the complaint.

Oelkrue submitted to SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Testing), and he showed signs of intoxication.

As a result of the investigation, it was discovered that Oelkrue was driving a vehicle while amphetamine, methamphetamine, and THC were in his system, the complaint states.

He was arraigned at 6:55 p.m. on December 21 in Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland’s office and then lodged in the Venango County Jail on $15,000.00 monetary bail.
