Man Found Asleep in Running Vehicle Arrested for Meth Possession, DUI

PLUM TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a man was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and possession of controlled substances charges after he was found asleep in a running vehicle in Plum Township early Sunday morning.

According to police, around 12:22 a.m. on Sunday, May 20, a known Erie man was found asleep in his running vehicle with the lights on in the middle of Russell Road.

Suspected methamphetamine was located in plain view, in a cup holder, located in the center console of the vehicle.

The man was taken into custody for DUI and possession of a controlled substance.

Charges are pending laboratory test results.

The man’s name was not released.
