IRWIN TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred early Sunday morning on Interstate 80 East, in Irwin Township, Venango County.

According to police, around 12:36 a.m., 51-year-old Jamal M. Zaghab, of Cranberry Township, was traveling east on I-80 in the right lane in a 2000 Mercury Villager.

Police say Zaghab was traveling too fast on slippery road conditions and lost control of his vehicle while attempting to negotiate a right curve in the roadway. It traveled southeast off the berm and crossed over the eastbound on ramp. The driver’s front side bumper had an initial impact with an embankment and began to overturn while traveling in an eastern direction. It came to a final rest at the bottom of the embankment facing west.

He was using a seat belt and suffered minor injuries.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

No other information was provided.
