Man Jailed on $100,000 Bond Following Clarion Drug Sting

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – A 43-year-old Clarion man has been jailed on drug charges stemming from an incident that occurred on September 6, 2013, at Super 8 Motel, in Clarion, Monroe Township.

According to court documents, 43-year-old Charles Jordan, Jr., of Clarion, was arraigned on April 17 and has been charged with the following offenses:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Manufacture of Deliver, Felony
– Criminal Use of Communication Facility, Felony 3
– Intentional Possession of a Controlled Substance by Person Not Registered, Misdemeanor

Unable to post $100,000.00 bail, he is confined to the Clarion County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on April 29.

The arrest was made following an investigation by Troop C Vice Unit at Punxsutawney Headquarters.

According to a criminal complaint filed on April 17, Trooper Thomas met with a Pennsylvania State police Confidential Informant on September 6, 2013. The C.I. related that he/she could assist with the purchase of narcotics from the defendant, Charles Jordan, Jr.

The C.I. related that Jordan got a new number and showed Trooper Thomas a text message that he/she receive at 1:44 p.m. on September 6, 2013. The text message read: This is my new number. The C.I. called Jordan at approximately 7:30 a.m. and Jordan told the C.I. that he was going to be at Super 8 and would tell him/her the room number later. The C.I. also related that Jordan never told him/her what he would have on him as far as the drugs.

The C.I. and his vehicle were searched at 4:33 p.m. with negative results. The C.I. was given $280.00 in official funds.

The C.I. told Trooper Thomas that Jordan was in Room 205 and Trooper Thomas watched the C.I. enter the room at approximately 4:44 p.m. and exited the room at approximately 4:50 p.m. and got into his/her car, and a CNET member followed the C.I. back to PSP Clarion station. At approximately 5:05 p.m. the C.I. handed Trooper Thomas a cigarette pack that contained 7 oxycodone pills in it. The C.I. and his/her vehicle were then searched again with negative results.

The C.I. related that while he/she was in the hotel room, only Jordan was in the room, and he received a phone call.

The pills were blue in color with an A215 imprint on one side of them. the A215 imprint identified them as oxycodone hydrochloride via drugs.com. The evidence was transported to PSP Clarion where it was packaged and entered into the evidence receiving locker.
