Man Rolls Vehicle After Falling Asleep Behind Wheel in Irwin Township

IRWIN TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A one-vehicle accident occurred Wednesday morning on Interstate 80, east of Georgetown Road, in Irwin Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 9:55 a.m. on May 17, 26-year-old Mark A. Williams, of Dix Hills, N.Y., was driving west on I-80 in a 2015 Chrysler 200 and fell asleep behind the wheel.

The vehicle traveled off the south berm of the roadway and rolled numerous times before coming to a final rest in the median, police say.

Williams and his passenger were using seat belts and were not injured.

Williams was charged with a traffic violation.

Clintonville Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Hovis Truck Service removed the vehicle from the scene.
