Man Rushed to Hospital Following State Route 257 Crash

Police sirenCRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on State Route 257 in Cranberry Twp., Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police say the accident happened around 1:12 p.m. when R. A. Hogue, 62, of Knox, was traveling north on State Route 257 and failed to stop at a red light.

Hogue’s 2014 Ford F-150 subsequently struck the left side of a 2006 Ford Escape operated by Leonard K. Sterling, 53, of Titusville.

Sterling was transported to UMPC Northwest by Community Ambulance Service for treatment of unknown injuries.

A passenger in his vehicle – Ruby P. Sterling, 53, of Titusville – was not injured.

Hogue also escaped injury.

All occupants were wearing safety belts.

Seneca Volunteer Fire Department also assisted at the scene.

Hogue was issued a traffic citation for failing to stop.
