CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man accused of sending inappropriate text messages and photos to a local teen.

Court documents indicate the Franklin-based State Police filed the following criminal charges against 26-year-old Jason Michael Duplessis, of Olyphant, Pa.:

  • Photograph/Film/Depict on Computer Sex Act — Knowingly or Permitting Child, Felony 2
  • Disseminate Explicit Sex Material to Minor, Felony 3
  • Unlawful Contact With Minor — Open Lewdness, Felony 3
  • Corruption of Minors, Misdemeanor 1
  • Harassment — Communicate Repeatedly in Another Manner, Misdemeanor 3

According to a criminal complaint, on June 6, Trooper Hagan, of the Franklin-based State Police, was assigned to investigate a report of suspected child abuse which was forwarded to the Franklin barracks as a result of a Childline notification. The reported alleged the parents of a known 14-year-old girl discovered the victim had been texting and messaging an unknown adult male.

Trooper Hagan spoke to the victim’s parents at their residence on June 18. They said they discovered the victim was messaging an individual they believe to be a man named “Jason.” They reported that they took the victim’s phone from her after discovering some messages that concerned them.

On the victim’s phone, Trooper Hagan observed a lengthy text message conversation between the victim and a contact listed as “Jason” which spanned over several months.

According to the complaint, the correspondence essentially indicated the victim and “Jason” had sexual desire for each other.

The victim’s mother also advised that the victim used several other social media applications such as Skype, Facebook, and Snapchat, in addition to mobile text messaging to contact the man.

A search of the listed phone number indicated Verizon Wireless was the service provider, and the phone was registered in Scranton, Pa. Trooper Hagan also checked the victim’s Facebook account and discovered two posts from Jason Duplessis on the victim’s account. He then looked at Duplessis’ Facebook account and matched the photo on the account to a driver’s license photo for Jason Duplessis.

The complaint states that Trooper Hagan also reviewed screenshots of the victim’s social media messages and observed that Duplessis asked the victim if she wanted to Skype while in the shower and made reference to hoping to see the victim’s genitals. The screenshots also indicated that Duplessis and the victim made numerous Skype calls.

According to the complaint, screenshots from SnapChat also showed that Duplessis asked to see the victim naked, indicated he wanted to marry her, discussed an inclination toward incest and a desire to have sex with family members, and sent the victim photos of his face and penis.

The complaint notes that the facial photo sent via SnapChat was of the same man pictured on Duplessis’ Facebook and driver’s license.

Trooper Hanan then requested and was granted a warrant for phone records associated with Duplessis’ number, Duplessis’ Facebook account, the victim’s Facebook account, Duplessis’ Skype account, and the victim’s Skype account.

According to the complaint, logs of the incoming and outgoing texts showed that Duplessis had contact with the victim while the Facebook records showed numerous photos of a male penis (which appear to be generated by Duplessis), as well as messages between Duplessis and other females where he told the females he loved them, wanted to marry them, requested naked photos or videos of them, as well as role play referencing incest.

The complaint notes that the SnapChat records contained multiple photos of both the victim and Duplessis from which they could be identified, as well as one photo of a man’s penis, and a video of an unknown female, estimated to be between seven and ten years old, dancing around with a bikini top on.

Based on the investigation, charges were filed on Tuesday, September 25, in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.

Authorities have issued a warrant for Duplessis’s arrest.
