Margaret HelmMargaret “Peg” (Keagle) Helm, 89, of Oil City, passed away on Dec. 15, 2016, in Jacksonville, Fla. She had previously resided at The Caring Place in Franklin.

Peg was born in Montoursville, on Dec. 31, 1926, to Alta M. and George A. Keagle. She was the mother to two sons, Steven and Richard and grandmother to two girls, Kelly and Kristi. Peg loved sports. She played fastpitch softball in high school and enjoyed rooting for the Steelers and college basketball teams. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher. She knitted, made jewelry and collected stamps. Peg was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a snazzy dresser in her youth and had a quick wit and a warm heart. She will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her.

Peg was preceded in death by husband, Lester Helm; son, Steven; her parents; and both brothers, Robert and George Keagle.

Since she passed away during the holidays, the family is planning a memorial service in Oil City/Franklin, in the spring (when her favorite flowers are in bloom).

Those wishing to attend can contact daughter-in-law, Carolyn Helm 904-651-5786 or Kelly Helm 904-962-9772.
