Margaret “Peg” Kerns, 78, of Tionesta, passed away Saturday morning, April 6, 2019, at her home.

She was born on July 9, 1940, in Strobleton; daughter of the late Edward “Ed” and Helen McDonald Buechner.

Peg married Ray Kerns on March 12, 1960, and he survives. She worked as a glass inspector at Owen’s Illinois Glass Plant.

Peg was a member of the Good Shepard United Methodist Church in Tionesta. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Peg loved to plant and raise flowers.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years; four children: Judy Wolbert of Tionesta, Dan Kerns and his wife Sheri of Tennessee, Amy Monaco and her husband Larry of Brockway, and Tina Cragin and her husband David of Ohio; seven grandchildren: Sara Wolbert, Jordan Wolbert, Alysa Phipps, Kayla Hines, Katelynn Reddinger, Logan Reddinger, and Abigayle Cragin; and two great-grandchildren: Caleb Phipps and a baby boy due on May 29, 2019.

Peg is also survived by her sister: Elizabeth “Betty” Putnam of Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Albert Edward and Roy Eugene; and two brothers: Robert Buechner and Jim Buechner.

At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation and services will be private.
