Margaret “Peg” Moyer, 91, of Valley Road, Polk passed away on her 74th wedding anniversary, September 21, 2017, at 10:10 pm, at UPMC Northwest.

Born on February 27, 1926, in North Sandy, she was the daughter of the late Echols and Julia Whetstone Reisinger.

Peg was a 1943 Franklin High School graduate. On September 21, 1943, she married Clarence W. “Web” Moyer. He preceded her in death in 2011.

Mrs. Moyer was an active member of the Polk United Methodist Church and served in various positions throughout the church. She was a primary Sunday School teacher for more than 30 years, treasurer of the Polk United Methodist Women, and a prayer warrior. Peg was a member of the Franklin Women’s Club and served terms as President and Vice President.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was proud to attend all of the musical and sporting events that her granddaughters participated in. She retired after 35 years of service as a Tailor Shop Supervisor at Polk Center. After Peg & Web retired, they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. She also enjoyed visiting yard sales, flea markets and church bazaars with her sister Dorothy.

Left to cherish her memory is her son Clarence “Butch” Moyer, and his wife Holly, of Polk; her granddaughters Mayme Kugler, and her husband Trent, of Williamsport, MD, and Mindy Richards, and her husband Isaac, of Mercer. Also, surviving is her sister Dorothy Morrow of Polk, three great-grandchildren, Kalila Mae, Adelphe Joy, and Finnian Tharros Richards, all of Mercer, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters Clarabell Greenlee and Ethel Wygant, and 7 brothers Paul, Howard, Bob, Burt, Lewie, Earl and Oakley Reisinger.

Family and friends are invited to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, for visitation on Monday, September 25, 2017, from 3-7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 am on Tuesday with the Rev. Drew Bell, Pastor of Polk United Methodist Church, and Rev. George Nagel, co-officiating.

Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cranberry.

The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Polk United Methodist Church, 715 Main Street, Polk, PA 16342 and/or the Polk Volunteer Fire Department, 710 Main Street, Polk, PA 16342.
