Margaret Roberta Snyder, age 91, of Seneca, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday afternoon, September 12, 2017.

She was born in Lorain, Ohio on April 27, 1926, to the late Walter Reed and Pearl (Garber) Wortman.

She graduated from Lorain High School in 1944, and in 1948 she graduated from Practical Bible Training School (now Davis College).

Mrs. Snyder served as a missionary in India under The India Mission from 1950 through 1964. She served as headmaster of the Indian Girls Middle School in Bhongir, India, and later worked in the middle school in Peddapalli for Indian pastors and evangelists, teaching Bible and English courses.

She has been a member of Grace Baptist Church in Seneca since 1964. She has served the Lord in countless church ministries such as being a Sunday school teacher, Missionary President, financial secretary, and music chair.

Margaret enjoyed traveling to many countries, and most of the fifty states. She also enjoyed sports, cross stitching, quilting, her pug dogs (especially Ben), entertaining friends and family, and studying God’s word. After losing her sight, she began to memorize large portions of the Bible, with John: Chapter 14, being a favorite.

She was married in the Euclid Avenue Baptist Church in Lorain, Ohio on June 27, 1964, to Paul L. Snyder, and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2015.

Surviving is a sister, Helen Connone of Lorain; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Ken and Jean Tapper of Throop.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Luman and Dorothy Rust; an infant brother, Bobby; and three brothers-in-law, Chester Luman, Gene Connone, and Milton Rust.

Visitation will be held Friday (Sept. 15) from noon until 2 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Ken Tapper, Rev. John Snyder, and Pastor Glenn Miller, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
