Marianne Scovron Scheer, 65, of Pleasant Township, died Monday, December 4, 2017, at her home. Marianne was born March 25, 1952, in Oil City, PA.

She was the daughter of the late William J. and Ruth P. (Provance) Scovron.

Marianne was a graduate of Oil City High School.

She attended Clarion University for both undergraduate and graduate school, where she obtained her Master’s in Library Science.

For many years, Marianne served as the executive director of the Venango County Historical Society.

Most recently, Marianne was employed at the Grace United Methodist Church as the office manager.

She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.

She loved reading, gardening and caring for her many pets.

She was also an avid beach fan and especially loved Nags Head Beach in North Carolina.

She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Scheer, of Warren, whom she married at St. Joseph Church in Oil City; two sons, Adam Wygant, and wife, Katy, of Pittsburgh, and Christopher Wygant, and wife, Shannon, of Seneca; two sisters, Margaret Folwell, of Las Vegas, NV, and Martha McFadden, and husband, Keith, of Oil City; seven grandchildren, Ethan Wygant, Ella Wygant, Emery Wygant, Evelyn Wygant, Zachary Wygant, Breanna Wygant, and Ashlyn Shuffstall; niece, Molly Whitling, and husband, Ed, of Rocky Grove; and nephew, Bill Rader, of Las Vegas, NV; great nephews, Carson and Cameron; and great-niece, Dezire.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penn. Ave. E., Warren, on Wednesday, December 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 600 Penn. Ave., W., Warren, on Thursday, December 7, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Richard Tomasone, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren, PA.

Friends of Marianne will also be received at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Room, 225 Singh Drive, Cranberry, PA, on Friday, December 8, from 4 to 6 p.m.
