Marihelen GariepyMarihelen Gariepy, 86, of 1038 North St, Oil City, died at 8:12 am, Friday, February 10, 2017, at Sugar Creek Station.

Born February 7, 1931 in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Cecelia Diebold Gariepy.

Marihelen was a graduate of Oil City High School and the Spencer Nursing School in Meadville.

She retired from the Franklin Regional Medical Center after 30 years in OB Department.

Marihelen was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers. She enjoyed flowers gardening, family picnics and the Christmas holiday.

Surviving are one sister, Patricia Barnhart and husband Jack; two brothers, Edward Gariepy and John Gariepy and wife Barb; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and her special friends, Terry and Barb Wade.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Gariepy, a sister, Ann Gariepy, a sister-in-law, Judy Gariepy, and a niece Wanda Jane Miller.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Monday from 10 am to noon.

Funeral service will be held in the funeral home at noon.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Venango County Humane Society or to a charity on one’s choice.
