Marjorie ClarkMarjorie P. Clark, 82, of 16 Paul Revere Road, Oil City, died at 7:40 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2016, at Oakwood Heights in Oil City.

Born June 21, 1934, in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late E. Lee and Ruth I. Marschinke Pierce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Donald Lee Pierce.

Marge was a graduate of the Oil City High School in 1952 and the Oil City Hospital School of Nursing in 1955 with a registered nurse degree. On October 1, 1955, following her nursing school graduation, she married William H. Clark, Jr., who survives. In addition to her husband, Marge is survived by a son, Jeffrey Clark and wife Judy; a daughter, Jennifer Friedhaber and husband Tom; five grandsons, Chad Clark, Eric Clark, Matt Friedhaber and his wife Libby, Brian Friedhaber and his wife Lisa, and Tim Friedhaber; and a great-granddaughter, Annie Friedhaber.

Following her marriage, Marge worked at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Washington, DC while her husband served in the U.S. Army. After their return to Oil City, she served in various nursing and voluntary roles in the community including the Oil City Hospital and Meals on Wheels. Later, she was owner-operator of the Teddy Bear Boutique children’s store located in Oil City.

Marge was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church where she was active in the choir, served on alter guild and taught Sunday School. In addition to enjoying time with her family, she enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends, reading, shopping, spending time at their Henry’s Bend cottage. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling the world with their friends. Marge always considered herself very blessed and gave thanks to God every day for family and friends. Many thanks go out to Sherry Flynn and her caregivers at Oakwood Heights in Oil City.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 23, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Oil City.

A memorial service, officiated by the Reverend Sandra Jones, will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the YWCA, Oakwood Heights or Good Hope Lutheran Church.
