mark mortimerMark J. Mortimer, 58, of 2046 Turkey City Road, Knox, died at 2:30 P.M. Monday February 6, 2017 at the Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

Born April 11, 1958 in Oil City, he was the son of James Mortimer and Patricia (Rudolph) Mortimer.

Mark was a 1976 graduate of Union High School in Rimersburg, he worked for the former Riphco (Rimersburg Plumbing and Heating Company) for many years.

At the time of his death he was a self-employed plumber. Mark attended the Lamartine United Church of Christ.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially duck hunting.

He is survived by his mother Patricia Mortimer of Rimersburg, two daughters; Sarah Myers and her husband Steven of Parker, and Rachel Mortimer of Parker, one brother; J. Matthew Mortimer of Rimersburg, two grandchildren; Natalie and Ezra Myers, his special friend Donna Pryor and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his father James Mortimer.

Marks family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday February 9, 2017 at the Varner Funeral Home in Sligo.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday February 10, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Lewis, Pastor of Lamartine United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
