Mary A. Shaffer Hanna, 88, of Mayport, died early Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017, at her residence.

Born on May 4, 1929, in Sprankle Mills, she was the daughter of the late John Matthew and Lucetta Caroline (Boddorf) Rader.

She worked at Sylvania and Rola Jensen. She was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church. She loved her family, her crocheting, and her flowers.

Mrs. Hanna is survived by four children, a son, Clifton “Goob” Shaffer and his wife Jodi, of Sigel, three daughters, Debra Schrecengost and her husband, Lynn, of New Bethlehem (Distant), Denise “Chunk” Troupe of Fairmount City and Dana Shick and her husband Barry of Lake Wales, Florida, thirteen grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Dolly Kunselman, of Pensacola, Florida, and Patsy Bish, of Fredonia.

In addition to both parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Grant Shaffer and Warren Hanna, and two sisters, Betty Shaffer and Sarah Brocious.

Friends will be received Saturday, October 28, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral services will be on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bud Davis officiating.

Interment will be held in the New Salem Cemetery, Redbank Township, Armstrong County.
