Mary A. Klimek, age 96, of Seminole, Armstrong County, died early Thursday morning, September 13, 2012 at Brookville Hospital, following a sudden illness after a fall.

Born October 3, 1915 in Seminole, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Mary Ann Slak Yankel.

She married Andrew Klimek and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1990.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in New Bethlehem. She was a former member of the St. Cosmos and Damien Catholic Church in Seminole.

Catholicism was her passion. Her life centered on her faith and her family but she still found time to enjoy gardening, crocheting and traveling. She also liked to cook, Slovian foods were her favorite to prepare.

Survivors include two sons: Robert Klimek and his wife, Shirley, of Sedona, Arizona and Christopher Klimek of Challis, Idaho; two daughters: Joan Tennant of Edgecomb, Maine and Deborah Seidle and her husband, Thomas, of Seminole; 25 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Mary is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Klimek of Seminole and close friends, Pat Burford and Gladys Brooks.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Klimek; daughter, Rosalie Klimek; two grandsons, Kurt Klimek and Kevin Allison; granddaughter, Brenda Ruth; great grandson, Steven Wincko; a sister, Jessie Gaston and a brother, Tony Yankel.

There will be no public visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2012, in the St. Charles Catholic Church, 201 Washington Street, New Bethlehem. Father Samuel Bungo will serve as celebrant.

Interment will follow in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in New Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions may be given in the name of Mary A. Klimek to the St. Charles Catholic Church “Steeple Fund”, 201 Washington Street, New Bethlehem, PA 16242.
