Mary Alice TurnerMary Alice Turner, 90 of Franklin passed away at 1:10 A.M. Sunday May 21, 2017 at Sugar Creek Station where she has resided the last several months.

Born in Seymour, IN on September 23, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Ethel Reedy Bowman.

She was a graduate of Brownstown High School in Indiana.

Mary worked for a number of years as a Clerical Supervisor for the Department of Public Welfare.

She loved to knit and crochet and enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends at King’s.

She was an avid doll collector who attended many auctions to buy more dolls for her collection which reached over 600.

Mary enjoyed going to her high school class reunions, most recently, she attended her 70th class reunion and was able to visit with her fellow classmates one final time.

On November 8, 1947 she married James R. Turner and he preceded her in death on January 23, 1996.

Surviving are four children; Linda Turner of Franklin, Thomas G. Turner and his wife Luann of Franklin, Carol McMasters and her husband Barry of Franklin and James R. Turner Jr. and his wife Lynn of Erie; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Janice Nelson and her husband John of Whiteland, IN; two sister-in-law’s, Virginia Smith of Franklin and Janice Erwin of Cranberry; and a brother-in-law, Eugene Turner of TN.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Katherine Durham and her husband Howard, and Jean Weaver and her husband Ron; a brother, Manford Bowman; and three brother-in-law’s, Leonard Smith, Bruce Turner and Ron Erwin.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 W. Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday and 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Wednesday.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Sugar Creek Station for the wonderful care and support given to Mary.
