Mary J. “Joyce” Graham

Member_157336[1]Mary J. “Joyce” Graham, 75, of Bruin, went to be with the Lord Wednesday afternoon, February 3, 2016 at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Joyce was born in Karns City on September 28, 1940. She was the daughter of the late James K. and Olive B. McElroy McCollough.

She was a 1958 graduate of Karns City High School. Joyce volunteered for many years as an E.M.T. and was a member of the Bruin and Petrolia Fire Departments, as well as the ladies’ auxiliary. She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, camping, bowling, playing bingo, and the company of her dog, Sammie. She was an avid Steeler fan. In her earlier years she had worked as a caregiver in the Petroleum Valley area.

She was married in Chicora on January 11, 1959 to William F. “Bill” Graham Jr., who survives. Also surviving are six daughters, Debbie Anderson and husband, Ken “Fritz” of Karns City, Diane Graham of Bruin, Tammy Adams and her husband, Robert, of Mercer, Karen Watterson of Worthington, Terri Libecco and her fiance, John Walters, of East Brady, Patty File and her husband, Jeff, of Bruin; fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three Godchildren, and three step great grandchildren; a brother, Dennis “Ollie” McCollough and his wife, Darlene, of Karns City; two sisters, Darlene Cousins and her husband, Ron, of Eldrid, and Phyllis Dodd and her husband, Ronald “Butch”, of Karns City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Judy Graham of Petrolia, Richard and Shirley Graham of North Oaklalnd, Dr. John and Luz Graham of Chicora, Mary Ann and Fred Lehner of Fairview, James and Sue Graham of Chicora, Bettie McCollough of Butler and Shelly McCollough of Leechburg, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, twins Matthew and Bradley; three brothers, James and Gary McCollough, and an infant brother, and her step father, Harlan Smeltzer.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with the Rev. Rick Thompson, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Cemetery, Kepples Corners. Memorial contributions in Joyce’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
