Mary Lee Kleck

Mary Lee Kleck, 84, a longtime and well-known resident of 244 Liberty Street, Franklin, died peacefully at 4:20 AM Thursday, February 14, 2019 in her home, surrounded by her loving family; following a period of declining health.

She was born January 10, 1935 in Franklin, a beloved daughter of the late: Joseph and Margaret Andrew Pastor.

She was a 1955 graduate of Franklin High School.

Mary had worked from 1955-1960 in the engineering department of the former Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company in Franklin. In 1978, she began work with the Valley Grove School District as a student van driver, retiring in 1993.

She was an active and faithful member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin. Mary, along with her husband Don were among the first volunteer workers at St. Patrick Church Community Food Pantry. She also was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mother’s and had formerly taught Sunday school at the church.

Mary loved the many family vacations to the Delaware beach and working word searches. She especially loved the holidays around her home with her family and friends. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Pirates fan.

She was married July 4, 1959 at St. Patrick Church in Franklin by the late Reverend Urban S. Barrett, to Donald J. Kleck, who survives.

In addition to her devoted husband of 59 years, she is survived by her children: Theresa M. Nestor and husband, Robert, Jr.; Melissa J. Ditzenberger and significant other, Dave Ballard; Mark A. Kleck and wife, Alice; James D. Kleck and wife, April all of Franklin and Amy L. Kleck and significant other, Ralph Engel of Harmony; ten grandchildren: Robert A. Nestor, III; Jessica A. Wilson and husband, Dan; David M. Ditzenberger and wife, Tiffany; Angela L. Gerber and husband, Jay; Kara M. Warner and husband, Stefan; Maria L. Kleck; Joshua A. Wurster and wife, Kyleigh; Brandon M. Wurster; Electrician’s Mate/Fireman Daniel J. Kleck, stationed with The U.S. Navy in Norfolk, VA and Ian W. Kleck; in addition to nine great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is her sister, Rose Beveridge and husband, Neil of Pittsburgh; her brothers: Joseph Pastor of Oil City; John Pastor and wife, Dorothy of Oil City and Frank Pastor and wife, Carol of Pittsburgh; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice M. Kleck; a brother Vincent Pastor; and by three sisters: Margaret “Peggy” Driscoll, Josephine “Jossie” McIntire and Frances Shick.

Friends may call Sunday 4-7 PM in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted Sunday evening at 6:30 PM in the funeral home with Deacon Richard Reed of St. Patrick Church, presiding.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 AM in St. Patrick Church in Franklin with Monsignor John J. Herbein, pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
