Massive Fire Destroys Oakland Township Home

OAKLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Firefighters from multiple companies battled a major house fire last night in Oakland Township, Venango County.

According to a representative of Venango County Office of Emergency Services, the call came in at 8:30 p.m. for a structure fire near 300 Camp Wilbea Lane.

The following fire departments were dispatched:

  • Oakland Volunteer Fire Department
  • Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department
  • Cooperstown Volunteer Fire Department
  • Cornplanter Volunteer Fire Department
  • Utica Volunteer Fire Department
  • Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department
  • Reno Volunteer Fire Department
  • Cherrytree Volunteer Fire Department
  • Rouseville Volunteer Fire Department

Community Ambulance Service and Franklin-based State Police were also on the scene.

Salvation Army Red Cross was contacted to assist the family, according to OES.

One person was transported to UPMC Northwest for unknown injuries.

The scene was cleared at 3:30 a.m.

The house was a complete loss.

Officials have not released the cause of the fire.

The fire remains under investigation.
