Maurice A. Latshaw, 92, of Seneca, passed away of natural causes on Friday, October 27, 2017, at his home, surrounded by loved ones, his one, and only daughter who was the light of his life, his faithful grand-puppy, ‘Toby’, and the newest family addition, ‘PigPig’.

He was born in Emlenton on January 2, 1925.

He was raised in and attended schools in Emlenton.

Maurice was a well known Seneca businessman, founding and operating Latshaw Motors in Seneca, which he ran for 53 years. He also owned and operated the former Shirley’s Restaurant in Seneca.

Mr. Latshaw was a member of the Petrolia Lodge No. 363 Free & Accepted Masons in Oil City.

He is survived by his daughter, Cheyenne Latshaw of Seneca, who is following in her father’s footsteps and continuing the family auto sales business; his brother, Glenn Arden Latshaw and his wife Joann and their daughter Karen Colvin and her husband Sonny; and his niece, Joyce Daugherty and her husband Mike of West Virginia.

Maurice was proceeded in death by his mother, Sara Witherup; four brothers, Kenneth, James, William, and Richard Latshaw; and his only sister, Joann Englehart.

His life revolved around cars and his daughter. He will forever be her “rock” as she became his “rock” till he finished his journey home.

Family and friends will be received Monday (Oct. 30th) from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mark Rusnak, chaplain for AseraCare Hospice, officiating. The Petrolia Masonic Lodge will also participate.
