Maxine E. (Daniels) Rhoads, 89, of Franklin, PA, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at Quincy Nursing Home, Waynesboro, PA.

Born November 11, 1926 in Franklin, PA She was the daughter of the late Carl B. and Jessie M. (Annabel) Daniels.

She married Curtis M. Rhoads on November 8, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2007.

She was a lifelong resident of Franklin, PA and moved to Waynesboro in July of 2011. She has been a resident of Quincy Village since November, 2011.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Franklin. In her early life she worked at Joy Manufacturing Company, Franklin. She also worked part time at the Franklin Library. Later she worked for her husband at Karns Transportation, for several years, which was a part of a family business.

She volunteered for Meals-On-Wheels for many years, while living in Franklin.

She is survived by a daughter, Deborah A. McCallum, and her husband, Thomas, Waynesboro; 3 grandchildren: Pamela J. McCallum, Thomas J. McCallum, Jr., and his wife, Kristen and Curt M. McCallum, and his wife, Diane, all of Waynesboro; 6 great-grandchildren: Austin Bryan, Cameron Bryan, Brady Bryan, Alexa McCallum, Allison McCallum, and Zachary McCallum, all of Waynesboro. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary C. Rhoads, her brother, C. Robert Daniels and an infant brother, Jay Daniels.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Franklin, PA.
