Meadville Area Men Arrested for Tavern Robberies in Crawford County

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — According to sources, two Meadville area men have been arrested for the Crawford County tavern robberies that occurred in July.

Sources say 37-year-old Michael Duane Ferguson of 9662 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, Pa., and 45-year-old Harry Williard Boyer Jr., of 9588 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, Pa. have been charged for their alleged involvement in burglaries that occurred during the month of July at three Crawford County bars.

Meadville-based State Police charged Ferguson with one count each of robbery, criminal conspiracy, and recklessly endangering another person.

Police charged Boyer with one count of criminal conspiracy.

They were arraigned on Thursday morning before Magisterial District Judge Michael Rossi in Vernon Township, Crawford County.

According to police, Ferguson committed armed robberies at The Owl’s Nest near Saegertown on July 22; Nate’s Bar and Grill in Greenwood Township on July 22; and the Double D Bar in Venango on July 30.

Police allege that Boyer drove Ferguson to and from all three taverns to commit the robberies.

According to police, Boyer contacted them with information about the robberies.

Both men are lodged in the Crawford County Jail in Saegertown, Pa..

Ferguson is being held in lieu of $70,000 bond; Boyer is being held in lieu of $60,000 bond.

Preliminary hearings for both men are scheduled for Aug. 27, 2012.
