Melvin J. Stark, 82, of Clarion, passed away on Saturday, December 09, 2017 at the Clarion Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center where he had been living for the past four years.

He was born on August 14, 1935, in Paint Twp. Clarion Co., the son of the late Vernice H. and Sarah K. Bish Stark.

Melvin was married on November 1, 1954, to B. Grace Stahlman who preceded him in death.

He worked for Owen Illinois for 39 ½ years retiring in 1994.

Melvin was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion and for 48 years he was a member of the Clarion Fire Co.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his bike and daily walks.

Melvin is survived by one son, Dan Stark of Clarion, six grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a sister Kathleen Guth and husband Austin of Seneca.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Grace, two sons, Rick Stark and Dave Stark, two grandsons, Tanner Stark and David Stark Jr. and a brother, Marlin.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, from 11 to 1 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion.

Funeral services will follow at 1:30 pm in the funeral home with the Rev. Monty Sayers pastor presiding.

Interment will be at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
