Michael S. Herrera, 58, of Oil City, PA. , died at 5:14 P.M. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at UPMC-Hamot in Erie after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 3, 1959, in Orange, CA., he was the son of Lidia Mata Herrera and the late Salvador Herrera.

Michael was a graduate of Canyon High School in Anaheim, CA.

He attended Fullerton State College.

Michael had worked for Snyder Electric and for Ford Aerospace, both in California.

He currently was working for Webco in Oil City.

Michael was married on May 23, 1997, in Santa Anna, CA. To the former Suzie J. Benton and she survives.

Michael enjoyed bowling, dancing and listening to music, especially the “oldies”.

He also enjoyed throwing darts and being around others.

Mike enjoyed grilling and barbecuing.

In addition to his mother of Westminster, CA., and his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Raeleen Herrera of San Angelo, TX, Tehya Herrera of Orange, CA; his grandchildren, Natalie, Steven, Audrey and Reanna Burgins; two sisters, Kathy Herrera of Fullerton, CA, Rebecca Herrera of Placentia, CA; one nephew, Adam Fausto of Anaheim, CA. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Pauline Benton of Oil City, sister-inlaws’, Gail O’Neil & her husband David of Venus, Marie Benton of Oil City, Jan Wolfgong & her husband Tim of Oil City; brother-in-laws’, Chuck Benton & his wife Mary Ann of Franklin, Jesse Benton & his wife Lisa of Oil City, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and his father -in-law, Jesse V. Benton Jr.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
