Mildred “Jane” McAfoose, 78, of Brookville, formerly of Corsica, died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Jefferson Manor in Brookville.

Born July 27, 1938 in Miola, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Parker Mahle and Clyde Clifford Mahle.

She was a 1958 graduate of Clarion High School.

Mrs. McAfoose married Richard McAfoose on October 17, 1959 in Miola; he survives.

She was a housewife and worked as a waitress. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and camping.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Dean McAfoose of Strattanville and her daughter, Karie McAfoose of Lexington, GA.

Also surviving are two brothers, Chester Mahle of Orlando, FL and Raymond Mahle and his wife, Dorothy, of New Bethlehem, PA; two grandchildren, Jason McAfoose of Pittsburgh and Angie Shaffer and her husband, Eric, of Dubois; and four great-grandchildren, Caroline Jane, Nolan, Eloise, and Ricky.

Along with her parents, Mrs. McAfoose is preceded in death by two brothers, John and Dave Mahle and two sisters, Nellie Steiner and Louise Conner.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Marienville, PA, Forest County.
