Mineral Township Man Victim of Phone Scam

alertMINERAL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Franklin-based State Police are investigating a phone scam that occurred on Mercer Road, in Mineral Township, Venango County.

Police say around 1:00 p.m. on May 29, a 64-year-old man was contacted via telephone by an unknown perpetrator who posed as an employee of Publishers Clearing House.

The victim then wired approximately $302.00 from his personal VISA card to an unknown fraudulent account, according to police.

The investigation continues.
