Monday’s Girls’ Basketball Roundup: Yeager Lifts Oil City To Victory

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Behind 18 points from Abby Yeager Oil City rolled past visiting Greenville, 47-16.

Gabbie Plumer added seven points for the Oilers who also got six from Grace King. In all, eight different Oil City players scored.

“The team worked together, and we had well-rounded scoring from all,” Oil City head coach Marie Plumber said. “The team played great defense and our turnovers were very few, I believe under seven.”

SHARON 45, FRANKLIN 39

SHARON, Pa. — Mariana Harris scored nine of her game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter to help Sharon rally past visiting Franklin, 45-39.

The Knights led 31-27 going to the fourth quarter but were outscored 18-8 in the final eight minutes.

Ayanna Harrison added 12 points for Sharon, while Karlie Hoffman led Franklin with 20 points, including 16 before halftime helping the Knights grab a 25-21 halftime lead.

Aneica Johnson added nine points for Franklin, all in the second half.

FOREST AREA 45, TIDIOUTE CHARTER 30

TIDIOUTE, Pa. — Rose Trivett scored all seven of her points in a strong third quarter for Forest Area, as the visiting Fires used the third quarter to pace a 45-30 win over Tidioute Charter.

Forest Area trailed 15-13 at halftime but outscored the Lady Bulldogs 21-6 in the third quarter

Jasmine Ginnery led the Fires with 12 points with Cassie Cochran adding seven points and 11 rebounds and Makiya Belloti six points and six assists.

Nakiesha Krause led all scorers with 14 points for Tidioute Charter.
